The first of three early learning centres to be constructed in Mackay this two-storey centre contains a central courtyard playground featuring retained trees and a tree house connected to the surrounding activity rooms via bridges.
The design responds to the tropical climate through generous roof overhangs, and large openings on both sides of every room, facilitating good cross ventilation.
Perforated screens protect the first floor play areas from the sun and prevailing weather, while contributing to the architectural presentation.
