Villa Balen
Based around the concept of a Balinese house our design makes full use of the moderate climatic conditions through providing three distinct pavilions interconnected by covered outdoor living areas.
Mackay Entertainment Centre
Stea won this commission in an anonymous design competition against four national firms. The completed 1100 seat theatre won an Australian Institute of Architects State Award and was heralded in the theatrical press as one of the best regional theatres.
Casino Civic Hall Restoration & Masterplan
Our masterplan for the Casino Civic Hall incorporated comprehensive public consultation, identification of the possible uses for the underutilised facility, and the comprehensive upgrade of all functional components of the building in line with current statutory requirements and industry expectations for a commercially successful operation.
Harrisville Container Farmhouse
This shipping container project was about providing comfortable ‘bushcamp’ accommodation for the owners of a major greenhouse development.
Whitsunday Council Chambers
Subsequent to Stea’s suggestion to locate of the Community Resilience & Innovation Hub over the existing carpark, Council decided to incorporate these facilities within a redevelopment of the council’s chambers.
Scone Airport Aviation Visitor Attraction & Terminal
Stea won the commission to prepare a concept plan (and then subsequently the detailed design and documentation) for a war-birds aviation visitor centre.
The Grange
Stea was engaged to design a new multi-million-dollar residence in Rockhampton on a property with 3 existing houses.
Rockhampton Airport
Rockhampton won the 2007 Australian Airports Association Major Airport of the Year and was also awarded the QMBA Central Queensland, Project of the Year and the QMBA State Award in Tourism Hospitality Facilities.
Gladstone Library
To supplement the natural lighting and ventilation inherent in our design we incorporated a fully computerised building management system. Extensive analysis demonstrated a return period of less than four years for the required capital investment.
