Mackay Entertainment Centre

Stea won this commission in an anonymous design competition against four national firms. The completed 1100 seat theatre won an Australian Institute of Architects State Award and was heralded in the theatrical press as one of the best regional theatres.

Casino Civic Hall Restoration & Masterplan

Our masterplan for the Casino Civic Hall incorporated comprehensive public consultation, identification of the possible uses for the underutilised facility, and the comprehensive upgrade of all functional components of the building in line with current statutory requirements and industry expectations for a commercially successful operation.

Whitsunday Council Chambers

Subsequent to Stea’s suggestion to locate of the Community Resilience & Innovation Hub over the existing carpark, Council decided to incorporate these facilities within a redevelopment of the council’s chambers. 

Gladstone Library

To supplement the natural lighting and ventilation inherent in our design we incorporated a fully computerised building management system. Extensive analysis demonstrated a return period of less than four years for the required capital investment.

Dudley Denny City Library

This project encompassed the refurbishment of a CBD building, donated to Mackay Regional Council, to accommodate a new, state of the art city library.
The flexibility of the internal layout is maximised through a large open space surrounded by quiet areas, study rooms, booth seating, a young adults area, a children’s space and a special heritage display.

Juru Enterprises

This 2014 project included designing training, administration & recreational facilities for an indigenous community organisation in Bowen QLD.

Gordon White Library

Our winning tender detailed how we would design an educational facility that would comprehensively meet all of council’s requirements whilst providing the most economic solution.
